About this statute

This Act sets up the Major Port Authority Boards, gives them powers over port operations, rates, assets, contracts, and borrowing, and sets rules for appointments, meetings, disqualification, and removal. The Board must keep accounts, prepare budgets and reports, and have its accounts audited; the Central Government has oversight powers, can issue policy directions, and in serious cases can take over management or order work to be done at the Board’s cost.
