Statute overview

About this statute

This Act creates Aliah University and lets the State Government set when it starts. The University’s Executive Council, Academic Council, Planning Board, and related authorities have specified governance, staffing, finance, and election powers and duties. This provision sets out how several Aliah University officers and bodies are appointed, how long they serve, and what powers and duties they have. University officers or authorities may delegate powers, but they keep overall responsibility. Non-residents of India cannot be officers or members of University authorities. Alumni Association membership is limited to graduates who meet subscription and ordinance-based conditions.
