This Act sets out how industrial disputes are defined and handled, including authorities, notice for service changes, and grievance and adjudication procedures. This provision sets how industrial disputes may be referred to Labour Courts, Tribunals, and National Tribunals, and limits strikes, lock-outs, and related proceedings during those processes. This part sets notice, permission, compensation, and penalty rules for closure, lay-off, retrenchment, and unfair labour practices. The appropriate Government may delegate powers by notification, and may amend the Schedules by notification.
