GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LAW DEPARTMENT Legislative West Bengal Act II of 1997 THE WEST BENGAL APPROPRIATION ACT, 1997. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 31st March, 1997.] [31st March, 1997.] An Act to authorise payment and appropriation of certain sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal for the services and purposes of the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1997. WHEREAS it is expedient to authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal for the services and purposes of the year ending on the thirty- first day of March, 1997; It is hereby enacted in the Forty-eighth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:- 1. This Act may be called the West Bengal Appropriation Act, 1997. Short title. 2. From and out of the Consolidated Fund of West Bengal there Issue of may be paid and applied sums not exceeding those specified in column 3 Rs. of the Schedule amounting in the aggregate to the sum of rupees seven 7,91,97,64,017 out of the hundred ninety-one crores ninety-seven lakhs sixty-four thousand and Consolidated seventeen towards defraying the several charges which will come in course Fund of West Bengal for of payment during the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1997, the year in respect of the services and purposes specified in column 2 of the 1996-97. Schedule. 3. The sums authorised to be paid and applied from and out of the Appro- Consolidated Fund of West Bengal by this Act shall be appropriated for priation. the services and purposes expressed in the Schedule in relation to the year ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1997.
