This Act repeals specified enactments, repeals the 2025 Repealing Ordinance, and preserves past actions and existing legal effects in the savings clause.
--- Section 1. Section 1.Short title and commencement --- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Repealing Act, 2025. (2) Save as otherwise provided, it shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 28 th day of May, 2025. --- Section 2. Section 2.Repeal of certain enactments --- 2. (1) The enactments specified in the Schedule of this Act are hereby repealed. (2) In the Schedule to the Uttar Pradesh Repealing Act, 2022 (U.P. Act no. 18 of 2022), the entry specified at serial number 7 thereto is hereby repealed for the purpose of wholly reviving the Uttar Pradesh Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1966 (U.P. Act no. 30 of 1966) from the date of its repeal. --- Section 3. Section 3.Savings --- 3. The repeal by this Act of any enactment specified in the Schedule below shall not,- ( a ) affect any other enactment in which the repealed enactment has been applied, incorporated or referred to; ( b ) affect the validity, invalidity, effect or consequences of anything already done or suffered or any right, title, obligation or liability already acquired, accrued or incurred, or any remedy or proceeding in respect thereof, or any release or discharge of or from any debt, penalty, obligation, liability, claim or demand, or any indemnity already granted; or the proof of any past Act or thing; ( c ) affect any principle or rule of law, or established jurisdiction, form or course of pleading, practice or procedure, or existing usage, custom, privilege, restriction, exemption, office or appointment, notwithstanding that the same respectively may have been in any manner affirmed or recognized or derived by, in or from any enactment hereby repealed; ( d ) revive or restore any jurisdiction, office, custom, liability, right, title, privilege, restriction, exemption, usage, practice, procedure or other matter or thing not now existing or in force; affect the audit, examination, accounting, investigation, inquiry or any other action taken or to be taken in relation thereto by any authority and such audit, examination, accounting, investigation, inquiry or action could be taken, and, or continued as if the said enactments are not repealed by this Act. --- Section 4. Section 4.Repeal and Saving, U.P. Ordinance no. 4 of 2025 --- 4. (1) The Uttar Pradesh Repealing Ordinance, 2025 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
