THE NAGALAND LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS’ SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978. (NAGALAND ACT NO. 7 OF 1978) Received the assent of the Governor on the 29.9. 78 An Act further to amend the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Members’ Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964. (Nagaland Act No. 6 of 1964). It is enacted in the twenty ninth year of the Republic of India as follows I. Short title and Commenment. (1) This Act may be called the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Members’ Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1978. (2) This shall come into force on the first ‘day of September, 1978. 2. Amendment of Section 4 of the Nagaland Act No. 6 of 1964. The existing Section 4 of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Members’ Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964 shall be substituted by the following :— “4. ALLOWANCES : — There shall be paid to each Member the following allowances in connection with his duties as member of the Assembly : — (i) Daily Allowance at the rate of rupees thirty per day when his attendance is required at Kohima for attending the sessions of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. (ii) Daily Allowance at the rate of rupees twenty five per day for halts outside his normal headquarters, but within the State of Nagaland. (iii) Daily Allowance at the rate of rupees forty per day for halts at places outside the State of Nagaland, and (i) Travelling Allowance at the rates admissible to a Government servant of the first grade under the relevant rules.”
