The Nagaland Municipal (2nd Amendment) Act, 2007

The Nagaland Municipal (Second Amendment) Act, 2007. (Act No. 4 of 2007) Received the assent of the Governor omagaland on 3011 If2007 and published in the Nagaland Gazette Extraordinary dated: 1l &o f January, 2008. Further to amend the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001. BE it enacted by theNagalandLegislativeAssemblyi n the fe-eighth year of the Republic of India as follows: Short title, extent and commencement 1. (I) ThisActmay be calledtheNagalandMunicipal( SecondAmendment)Act, 2007. (2) It shall extend to whole ofNagaland. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect fiom the 3O'August, 2006. Amendment of Section 9. 2. In section 9 of theNagaland Municipal Act, 2001, forthe existing sub-section (3),the following sub-sectionmay be substituted, namely:- "(3) Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland, member of Rajya Sabha from Nagaland and members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in accordance with article 243R (2) (a) (ii) and (iii) of the Constitution of India; and" Amendment of Section 21. 3. In section 21 of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001, forthe existing sub-section (3), the following sub-sectionmay be substituted, namely:- "(3) Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland, member of Rajya Sabha from Nagaland and members of theNagaland 1egislativeAssemblyi n accordance with article 243R(2)(a) (ii) and (iii) of the Constitution of India; and"
