This Act repeals the Acts listed in its Appendix, but ongoing actions or proceedings started under those repealed Acts continue until they are determined.

[Bihar Act 12,2016] AN ACT To repeal the Laws which are no longer needed or relevant. Preamble -WHEREAS, Panchayat Raj Act, 2006 has been applied in the State and the State Government has decided to abolish the Village Chaukidari Tax system and it is expedient to repeal the Acts listed in the Appendix to this Act ; Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar, in the sixty seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, Extent and Commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Bihar Repeal of Laws (Which are no longer needed or relevant), Act 2016. (2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Repeal and Savings.—(1) The Acts listed in the Appendix to this Act are hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, any action, proceeding or anything initiated in exercise of the powers conferred by or under any of the Acts repealed under the sub section (1) of this section shall continue till the determination of the action, proceeding or anything done, as if the Act in question has not been repealed.
