Panaji, 31st January, 2002. ______ The Goa Marine Fishing Regulation (Relaxation of Time Limit for Registration of Vessels) Act, 2002 (Goa Act No. 10 of 2002) [25-1-2002] AN ACT to relax the time limit for registration of vessels under the Goa, Daman and Diu Marine Fishing Regulation Act, 1980. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Goa in the Fifty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:— 1. Short title, commencement and duration.— (1) This Act may be called the Goa Marine Fishing Regulation (Relaxation of Time Limit for Registration of Vessels) Act, 2002. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 21-11-2001. (3) It shall remain in force for a period of ninety days from the date of its coming into force. 2. Relaxation of time limit for registration of unregistered fishing vessels.— Notwithstanding anything contained in clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (2) of section 12 of the – 2 – Goa, Daman and Diu Marine Fishing Regulation Act, 1980 (Act 3 of 1981) (hereinafter referred to as the “said Act”),— i) every application for registration of the fishing vessels under the said Act shall be made by the owner of the unregistered fishing vessel, with relevant documents, within ninety days from the date of coming into force of this Act, ii) the authorized officer as defined in the said Act, shall consider all the applications which have been received by him after the expiry of the stipulated period under clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 12 of the said Act, and in case such applications meet with all the requisite requirements, register the same under the said Act on payment of penalty charges of Rs. 2000/- for vessels upto 50 H. P. and Rs. 5000/- for vessels above 50 H. P. 3. Repeal and saving.— (1) The Goa Marine Fishing Regulation (Relaxation of Time Limit for Registration of Vessels) Ordinance, 2001 (Ordinance No. 9 of 2001), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken in exercise of any powers conferred by or under the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken in the exercise of the powers conferred by or under this Act as if this Act were in force on the day on which such thing or action was done or taken.
