ASSAM ACT NO. IV OF 2019 (Received the assent of the Governor on 7th March, 2019) THE ASSAM COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2019 970 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, MAY 28, 2019 AN ACT further to amend the Assam Cooperative Societies Act, 2007. Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Coopera!ive Assam Act Societies Act, 2007, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in No. IV of the manner hereinafter appearing; 2012 It is hereby enacted in the Seventieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, extent and I. (I) This Act may be called the Assam Cooperative So<.:i('ti~s commencement (Amendment) Act, 2019. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It sh~l; ·~ome into force at one..-:. Amendment of 2. kl the principal Act, in section. I 0, in sub-section (I), in section I 0 cla~se (e), for the existing prevision, the following shall be substituted, namdy :- "(e ) a copy of treasury challan or proof of electronic payment as an evidence in support of payment of registration fee calculated as per the provisions of sub-section ( 1) of section 17 which shall be non-refunclahle." Amendment of 3. In the principal Act, in section 17, in sub-section (I), ii1 section 17 between the word "challan" and "along", the words and punctuation marks "or hy electronic payment, as the case may be," sha II b~ inserted. Amendment of 4. ln the principal Act, in section 3 I, atter the word "year" section 31 appearing at the end, the words "frnrr. the date of election of the bin:ctors" shall be inserted. Amendment of 5. In the principalAct, in section 33, in suh-section (4), for the section 33 words "tnis bye-laws" appearing in between the words "prcivided in" and the punctuation mark",", the words "the hyc-·laws" shnll be substituted. Amendment of 6. In the principal Act, in section '.15, in sub-section (2), for the section 35 words "fifteen numbers of Directors" app~~ring in b~twee11 the words "consist of" and the punctuation mark " : " , the words ''maximum twenty one number of Directors'~ shall be substituted. Amendment of 7. In the principal Act, in section 40, in sub-section (4), for thr section 40 existing provisions of clauses ( c) and ( e) , the following shn II be substiu~ted, namely :- "(~) not conduct111g the meetings of the Board under sub-section (3) of section 43 or delegates or representatives tinder sub section (4) of section 41 :'' "(e ) autbmti<ic dissolution under ~ub· section ( 4) of seci!i'.ln 41 ;".
