AN ACT TO AMEND THE BIHAR SELF-SUPPORTING CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 1996 [Bihar Act 2 of 1997) Preamble: - WHEREAS, with a view to accelerate growth of fishery in the State of Bihar and to enhance production, it is necessary to strengthen capacity building, WHEREAS, with a view to achieve the objective it is necessary to reorganize existing Co-operative Societies which are registered and operating at block level. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the Sixty one year of Republic of India as follows: 1. Short Title, Extent and Commencement.—(i) This Act may be called The Bihar Self-Supporting Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2010. (ii) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar. (iii) It shall come into force on such day as the State Government may appoint by publication in official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Section 11 of the Bihar Act, 2, 1997—The following proviso shall be added after sub-section (4) of Section 11 of the said Act, 1997 :- “Provided that notwithstanding anything contrary contained in Bihar Act 2 of 1997, or in any other Act including Bihar Co-operative Societies Act, 1935 or rules framed thereunder or bye-laws of a Co-operative Society or class of Co-operative societies or any order issued by the State 3 (cid:18)बहार गजट (असाधारण)] 30 अूील 2010 Government or Registrar of Co-operative Societies, any Fishermen Co- operative Society at Block Level registered under Bihar Act 2 of 1997, shall with effect from the appointed day, stand reorganised as one society and shall be deemed to be registered under Bihar Act VI of 1935.” ———— अधी,क, सिचवालय मुिणालय, (cid:18)बहार, पटना (cid:26)ारा ूकािशत एवं मु1ित। (cid:18)बहार गजट (असाधारण) 305- 571 +400-ड(cid:15)0ट(cid:15)0पी0। Website: http://egazette.bih.nic.in
