About this statute

The Act's short title is the Preservation of Public Security Act. Interpretation: the defence of the territory and people of Kenya The President may by Gazette notice declare this Part in operation; while such a notice is in force the President may make regulations for public security and may revoke the notice; the notice may limit which matters in section 4(2) the power to make regulations covers, subject to subsection (3). When an order under section 29 has been made and remains in force, the President may make regulations for the preservation of public security, subject to the Constitution and to the extent this Part is brought into operation. Defines "subsidiary legislation" and states that Part IV applies to subsidiary legislation made under the Act.
