Statute overview
About this statute
This preamble identifies an order on importing cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats, and states that the Director-General issues it after citing earlier legal texts. Importing bovine, porcine, ovine, or caprine animals into the Grand Duchy is prohibited. The preceding article does not apply to certain cattle coming from Belgium, including Belgian cattle and imported cattle that have completed quarantine and are in free circulation there. L’importation de certains bovins de Belgique reste soumise à des conditions précises de marquage, de transport, de contrôle, d’avertissement par télégramme et de rapport sanitaire. The Director general may grant import-ban exemptions for livestock, but only if the importer provides the required certificates and the animals meet inspection, quarantine, transport, and slaughter conditions.
