About this statute
The Government is authorized to requisition horse-drawn vehicles with harness and motor trucks for home delivery of potatoes. The Government is authorized to requisition certain vehicles during 18–21 October 1917 for potato transport to homes. Requisition is to be paid, with fair compensation charged to the persons for whom the transport was carried out. Anyone who refuses to cooperate with the execution of the ordered requisition is punishable by a fine and/or imprisonment. The major-commandant must have the gendarmerie send requisitions to the owners of horse-drawn teams for carrying out transports.
