Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to a Grand-Ducal decree about money and valuables held by notaries; it lists legal bases and does not state an operative rule here. Les notaires doivent protéger les fonds de tiers, les placer dans les comptes requis, et transférer au bout de 5 ans les sommes non réclamées à la Caisse de Dépôts et Consignations. Notaries must deposit titles and values entrusted to them within two months after receipt, in a public or private credit institution, for the owner’s account. All other implementing measures are to be taken by ministerial order. Certain notaries must pay or deposit currently held sums, securities, and values within three months, and sums covered by article 1(c) within six months after the measure takes effect.
