About this statute

The law grants the Government the powers needed to safeguard the country’s economic interests during the war. During the current war, public administration regulations may be used to establish necessary measures to protect the general interest in the economic order, without affecting the Government’s existing powers. This article says the regulations can punish offenders with up to 3 years in prison, a 3,000 fr. fine, or one of those penalties, and may also order special confiscation. A report must be given to the Chamber of Deputies at its next meeting on how the measures under this law were carried out. This law takes effect on publication in the Mémorial and stops having effect at the end of the war between the neighbouring countries, on a date to be set by grand-ducal order.
