Statute overview
About this statute
This is the preamble to a 2 July 1932 Luxembourg law on standardising agricultural and horticultural products and creating a national mark. The Government may establish classifications for agricultural and horticultural products, and any classification must match a standard for homogeneous-quality products backed by the seller’s guarantee to the buyer. Some producers, exporters, and their professional groups may obtain authorization to place the national mark on certain agricultural and horticultural products and their packaging, after advice from the Chamber of Agriculture. Un arrêté gouvernemental doit fixer la marque nationale, les conditions de son apposition et plusieurs modalités de contrôle, de standardisation et de cotation des prix. The right to use the national trademark may be withdrawn if abused, by the Director General for agricultural affairs, after the Chamber of Agriculture gives its opinion.
