Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble states the law’s title and that it is enacted and ordered into force. This article gives legal force in Luxembourg to the uniform law on bills of exchange and promissory notes annexed to the 7 June 1930 Geneva Convention. The rule adds two wording requirements, but they apply only to effects created at least six months after the law enters into force. An aval must be given on the bill of exchange, on an allonge, or by a separate act that states the place where it is given. Guarantors of a bill of exchange may obtain limited payment delays at maturity by providing security.
