About this statute

This preamble identifies the law on integration of foreigners in Luxembourg and its chapters on application, anti-discrimination measures, financial aid, housing, institutional structures, general provisions, transitional provisions, and repeals. This article defines “foreigners” and creates a government commissioner to support and coordinate actions for immigrants and foreign persons in Luxembourg. The provision lists forms of support for the persons referred to in Article 1, including housing, integration help, travel and reception assistance, social activities, intercultural exchange, participation in social life, and integration training. Discrimination against a person, group, or community based on race, color, ancestry, national or ethnic origin, or religion is prohibited. For offences covered by Articles 454 and 455, offenders may also be sentenced to deprivation of rights under Article 33.
