Statute overview

About this statute

Le texte ajoute une formation pratique complémentaire pour certains conducteurs et crée une infraction pénale visant les appareils destinés à détecter ou perturber les instruments de contrôle des infractions routières. Abandoning a vehicle or vehicle wreck on a public road is punishable under article 9. A vehicle may count as abandoned after the stated time limits and police/gendarmerie steps. Police or gendarmerie may seize a vehicle linked to an offence, and a judge must validate the seizure within 8 days. The court can order release, impose conditions, or order sale after 3 months in some cases. Police or gendarmerie officers authorized by their superiors may issue a taxed warning for certain contraventions, and the offender must pay the tax immediately or within the time set by summons. A non-resident offender who does not pay the fixed penalty on the spot must pay a sum to the police or gendarmerie, and the vehicle may be held until the sum is paid.
