Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to a Luxembourg law on legal aid and related amendments. The Bar Council must assist people who cannot find a lawyer or whose resources are insufficient, work with the legal information service, maintain a consultation and defense office, and the Bâtonnier must designate the lawyers serving that office. This article sets the conditions for legal aid, who may get it, who decides it, and when it can be refused, withdrawn, or appealed. A concerned person may file a petition with the Disciplinary and Administrative Council within 40 days, and the procedure does not require a barrister. Le recours d’un avocat omis du tableau n’a pas d’effet suspensif, sauf décision contraire du conseil disciplinaire et administratif.
