Statute overview

About this statute

This provision is the preamble to a law that amends the laws on bailiffs and notaries. A person can be appointed huissier de justice only if several conditions are met. To be admitted to the stage, the candidate must present either a Luxembourg legal training certificate or a doctorate in law issued by a Luxembourg jury. A candidate for a bailiff of justice position must send an application to the Minister of Justice; the Grand Duke makes the appointment. L’huissier de justice doit déposer sa signature et son paraphe auprès de certains greffes de tribunaux, et il ne peut pas les changer sans en informer ces mêmes autorités.
