Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble states that the law of 29 June 2023 modifies the electoral law and the law on the Court Constitutionnelle. This article deletes paragraph 2 of article 123 of the amended electoral law of 18 February 2003. This article replaces the reference to Article 54 of the Constitution with a reference to Article 65 in Article 129(1) of the same law. A member of the European Parliament cannot also hold certain other offices or paid public employment. This article sets the procedure for a constitutional challenge: it must be filed with the Constitutional Court within three days after notification of the Chamber of Deputies’ decision, and only the elected candidate or the deputy concerned may bring it.
