Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble identifies the regulation and lists the legal bases, opinions, and urgency relied on before the Government adopted it. The regulation applies to finished materials and objects intended to touch food, and to materials and objects in contact with water intended for human consumption, but not to certain coating/lining materials, fixed water-distribution installations, or antiques. Les matériaux et objets doivent être fabriqués selon les bonnes pratiques de fabrication et ne pas céder aux denrées alimentaires des constituants dangereux ou altérant leurs caractéristiques. Materials and objects not yet in contact with food must carry specified food-contact indications when marketed. It is forbidden to make, import, export, hold, transport for sale, offer for sale, sell, give away, or exchange materials and objects that do not comply with this regulation.
