Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to a Grand-Ducal regulation that amends a 1972 regulation about the composition, organization, and operation of the consultative commission on police of foreigners. Before certain foreigner-police decisions are made, the consultative commission’s opinion must be obtained, unless there is urgency. An interested foreigner may ask the Minister of Justice, in writing, within one month after being notified of the decision, to have the matter taken up. The commission must be made up of three members, and a Justice Ministry delegate may attend debates but not take part in deliberations. The commission is seized by the Minister of Justice, the procedure is oral, parties may file written notes, the interested person has a right to counsel, may request appointed counsel, and may ask for an interpreter.
