Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to a grand-ducal regulation on energy-efficiency requirements for household refrigerators, freezers, and combined appliances. Le règlement s’applique aux nouveaux appareils de réfrigération ménagers alimentés sur secteur; certains appareils sont exclus. The energy service of the State must take necessary measures so refrigeration appliances covered by the regulation can be marketed only if their electricity consumption is at or below the maximum allowed for the category. Manufacturers, EU-based agents, or the person responsible for placing the appliance on the Community market must ensure each marketed appliance complies. The Energy Service of the State may not block the market placement of refrigeration appliances bearing the CE mark, and must presume those appliances compliant unless proven otherwise. This article says the conformity assessment procedures and CE-marking obligations for refrigeration appliances are set out in Annex II.
