Statute overview

About this statute

This preamble introduces a Luxembourg regulation on direct payments for beef producers. This article defines key terms used by the regulation, including producer, principal agricultural operator, holding, eligible bovine, identification document, national reserve, premium rights, the Minister, and the competent authority. Farm holdings formed or changed after 30 June 1992 may not benefit from certain direct payment schemes for beef producers unless it is proved that the change or creation does not abuse premium-limit rules. After a special premium request is filed, the producer/holder of the male cattle must update the cattle register; buyers must make the needed entries after buying a male bovine, and male bovines in intra-community trade must travel with the identification document. Special premium applications may be filed with the competent authority, but no more than six per year and only between 15 January and 15 December inclusive.
