Statute overview

About this statute

Certain trailers and some three-wheeled/quadricycle vehicles must have specified safety equipment. Certain trailers must have an automatic stopping device if the coupling breaks; some military vehicles and trailers under 1,500 kg are exempt if they have a compliant secondary coupling. No coupling may touch the public road. Certain emergency and official vehicles may be fitted with a special warning device when they are used in urgent service. Les cyclomoteurs avec un certificat de conformité valable sont réputés satisfaire aux exigences visées; le texte ajoute aussi des signaux liés à la fin de certaines obligations de circulation. Most traffic signs must be placed on the right side of the direction of travel, with specific distance rules and limited exceptions.
