About this statute

This preamble introduces a grand-ducal regulation on the supplementary consultations that may be carried out by a midwife. A midwife may provide additional consultations during pregnancy, postpartum, or breastfeeding. The midwife must prepare an individualized preparation program and provide information, explanations, and advice about pregnancy, hygiene, nutrition, and protection of the mother and child. During postpartum and breastfeeding, the midwife must provide complementary consultations, useful care and advice, and cooperate with other health and social providers. La sage-femme doit effectuer deux consultations complémentaires.
