About this statute
This Act may be cited as the Printed Publications Act. This section defines key terms used in the Act, including “book,” “editor,” “newspaper,” and references to “printing.” Books printed and published in Malawi must have an imprint with the printer’s name and place, the publisher’s name and business place, and the year of publication. Publishers of books published in Malawi must deliver a copy to the Government Archivist within two months, at their own expense, and the Archivist must give a written receipt. A newspaper must not be printed or published until specified details are registered with the Government Archivist, and later changes must also be registered.
