About this statute
This provision says the Act may be cited as the National Assembly (Emoluments) Act. This section defines “Assembly” as the National Assembly of Malawi and “member” as a member of the Assembly, unless the context requires otherwise. Members are entitled to be paid salaries, fees, and allowances for their services, at a rate the President may authorize by Gazette order. If there is a question about whether a member is entitled to a payment under the Act or an order made under it, the President’s decision is final.
