About this statute

This provision gives the Act its short title: the Trustees Incorporation Act. This section defines several terms used in the Act. Trustees of qualifying charities or associations may apply to the Minister for incorporation, and the Minister may grant or refuse the certificate. Property held by the body corporate must be kept for the charity or association and handled as it was by the trustees before incorporation, subject to the Act. After incorporation, trustees remain responsible for property that comes into their hands and for their own acts and administration of the charity or association’s property.
