About this statute
This section gives the Act its short title: the Professional Qualifications Act. This section defines “Minister” and “profession” for the Act, unless the context requires otherwise. The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette and subject to Section 5, specify foreign qualifications that count toward membership and practice of a profession in Malawi. The Minister may, by notice in the Gazette, add to or delete from the Schedule’s list of professions. This Act does not apply to a profession if another written law expressly covers qualification for membership and the right to practise that profession in Malawi.
