Statute overview

About this statute

This Act may be cited as the African Development Bank Act. Malawi’s accession to the Bank Agreement is ratified, and payment of the first two instalments of its paid-up subscription is approved. The Government must pay from the Consolidated Fund the amounts required to the Bank under the Bank Agreement and the Board of Governors' resolution, including Malawi's subscription instalments and related administrative costs. Section 4 gives specified Bank Agreement provisions the force of law in Malawi, but it does not let the Bank claim customs-duty-free imports, tax exemptions on goods-price duties, or exemptions for service charges.
