About this statute

This section gives the Act its short title: the Commercial Advertising (Traditional Music) Control Act. This section defines “Malawi traditional music or dancing” for this Act. A person must not record or cause to be recorded Malawi traditional music or dancing for use in commercial advertising. A person must not publish or cause to be published recordings of Malawi traditional music or dancing for advertising, and doing so is an offence. The Minister may make regulations by notice published in the Gazette.
