About this statute
This Act may be cited as the Industrial Licensing Act. This section defines key terms used in the Act, including “industrial licence,” “manufacture,” and “product.” Manufacturers of products listed in the Schedule must hold an industrial licence for that place in Malawi. The Minister must make Gazette-published regulations for industrial licences and related matters, and may set different rules, authorize subsidiary legislation, and set fines or imprisonment penalties. A licence under this Act does not exempt the licencee from complying with other written laws that apply to the licensed activity.
