About this statute

This section says the Act may be cited as the Presidents (Salaries and Benefits) Act. This section defines “former President,” “former Vice-President,” and “Vice-President” for the Act. This Act applies to former Presidents who left office before the Act started, and it applies back to the date they left office. The President, Vice-President, and former officeholders are entitled to specified salary, pension, gratuity, benefits, and facilities. A former President or former Vice-President cannot receive or use the Act’s pension, benefits, or facilities while drawing a Government or State body salary.
