This section gives the Act its short title.

1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Advisory Committee on the Granting of Pardon Act.

This section defines “Committee” as the Advisory Committee on the Granting of Pardon required under the Constitution.

2. Interpretation In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires— “ Committee ” means the Advisory Committee on the Granting of Pardon required to be constituted pursuant to section 89 (2) of the Constitution.

Composition of the Committee

The Committee must include the President, the Attorney General, and a number of Government ministers chosen by the President.

3. Composition of the Committee The Committee shall consist of— (a) the President; (b) such number of ministers of the Government as the President shall consider appropriate to appoint to the Committee ; and (c) the Attorney General.

Meetings of the Committee

The Committee must meet where and when the President determines, and the President presides over its meetings.

4. Meetings of the Committee (1) The Committee shall meet at such places and times as the President shall determine. (2) Meetings of the Committee shall be presided over by the President. (3) The Committee shall have power to determine its own procedure for its meetings.
