About this statute

This section gives the Act’s short title: the Public Accountants and Auditors Act. This section defines key terms used in the Act. This provision establishes the Malawi Accountants Board and gives it corporate powers. The Minister appoints Board members, and ex officio members may appoint alternate permanent representatives from their institutions. A person cannot be appointed to the Board if they meet any listed disqualifying condition, including bankruptcy, unsound mind, certain convictions, other legal disqualifications, or a conflict of interest.
