About this statute

Russia and Morocco set rules for Russian fishing vessels in Morocco’s Atlantic fishing zone, including licenses, quotas, payments, reporting, observers, and fishing restrictions. If a Russian fishing vessel is detained in Morocco’s Atlantic fishing zone, Morocco must notify Russia within 24 hours and report the circumstances and reasons. The captain must sign the detention protocol, may add remarks, and must take the vessel to the port designated by Moroccan authorities. Russia also must provide annual research vessels and related expert assistance.
