The Russian Government directs that the June 1999 World Congress of the Russian Press be held, sets up the organizing committee leadership, and instructs federal executive bodies to help with preparation and conduct.

ПРАВИТЕЛЬСТВО РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ РАСПОРЯЖЕНИЕ от 24 марта 1999 г. N 462-р г. Москва 1. Принять предложение ИТАР-ТАСС, согласованное с заинтересованными федеральными органами исполнительной власти и средствами массовой информации, о проведении в июне 1999 г. Всемирного конгресса русской прессы (далее именуется - Конгресс). 2. Утвердить председателем организационного комитета по подготовке и проведению Конгресса генерального директора ИТАР-ТАСС Игнатенко В.Н. Поручить председателю оргкомитета сформировать и утвердить его персональный состав. 3. Федеральным органам исполнительной власти оказать организационному комитету поддержку в подготовке и проведении Конгресса. 4. Принять к сведению, что подготовка и проведение Конгресса будет осуществляться за счет внебюджетных источников. Председатель Правительства Российской Федерации Е.Примаков
