Article 29 is inserted to read as follows: 08/08/2008 ceremonial Dans la Loi n°34/2008 du 08/08/2008 portant caractéristiques, description, cérémonial et respect du drapeau National telle que modifiée à ce jour, il est inséré l’article 29 libellé comme suit: “Ingingo ya 29: Gusuzugura ibendera cyangwa ibimenyetso biranga ubwigenge “Article 29: Contempt of the national flag or official emblems of the sovereignty « Article 29: Mépris du drapeau national ou des insignes officiels de souveraineté ku mugaragaro Umuntu wese, kandi abigambiriye, usuzugura, upfobya, ukuraho, wonona cyangwa wandagaza ibendera, aba akoze icyaha. Any person who, publicly and intentionally, removes, destroys or contempts, despises, desecrates the national flag, commits an offence. personne Toute et qui, intentionnellement, méprise, minimise, enlève, détruit ou outrage le drapeau, commet une infraction. publiquement Iyo abihamijwe n’urukiko, ahanishwa igifungo kitari munsi y’umwaka umwe (1) ariko kitarenze imyaka ibiri (2) n’ihazabu y’amafaranga y’u Rwanda atari munsi ya miliyoni imwe (1.000.000 FRW) ariko atarenze miliyoni ebyiri (2.000.000 FRW) cyangwa kimwe gusa muri ibyo bihano”. Any person who, intentionally, uses the national flag in an illegal manner, commits an offence. Toute personne qui, intentionnellement, utilise le drapeau national de façon illégale, commet une infraction. Iyo abihamijwe n’urukiko, ahanishwa igifungo kitari munsi y’ukwezi kumwe (1) ariko kitarenze amezi atandatu (6) n’ihazabu y’amafaranga y’u Rwanda atari munsi y’ibihumbi magana atanu (500.000 FRW) ariko atarenze miliyoni imwe (1.000.000 FRW) cyangwa kimwe gusa muri ibyo bihano.” Upon conviction, he/she is liable to imprisonment for a term of not less than one (1) month and not more than six (6) months and a fine of not less than five hundred thousand Rwandan francs (FRW 500,000) and not more than one million Rwandan francs (FRW 1,000,000) or only one of these penalties.” Lorsqu’elle en est reconnue coupable, elle est passible d’un emprisonnement d’au moins un (1) mois mais n’excédant pas six (6) mois et d’une amende d’au moins cinq cent mille francs rwandais (500.000 FRW) mais n’excédant pas un million de francs rwandais (1.000.000 FRW) ou de l’une de ces peines seulement ». Any person who intentionally uses another flag under pretext to be the national flag, commits an offence. Toute personne qui, intentionnellement utilise un autre drapeau en le faisant passer pour le drapeau national, commet une infraction.
