About this statute

This provision says the law covers the publication, notification, and commencement of official acts from government institutions. Official laws, orders, and regulations of public interest start to apply when they are published as required by the Law. Laws, orders and regulations of public interest must be published in the Official Gazette of Rwanda and electronically. Laws and regulations adopted by the East African Legislative Assembly take effect in Rwanda on the date they are published in the East African Community Gazette, and they must also be published in Rwanda’s Official Gazette. Some laws, orders, and regulations take effect on the date they specify, based on publication or notification; if no start date is given, the default is 10 calendar days after publication in the Official Gazette.
