About this statute

This law is meant to prevent, suppress, and punish trafficking in persons and exploitation of others, and to protect and assist victims. This article sets the territorial and personal scope of the law for trafficking in persons and other offences covered by it. This article defines key terms used in the trafficking in persons law. The Ministry must put in place policies and strategies to prevent trafficking in persons. Anyone who learns information about a trafficking-in-persons victim, the commission of the offense, or plans to commit it must report that information to criminal investigation authorities or another competent authority.
