This provision states the Convention’s purposes: to strengthen anti-corruption measures, promote international cooperation and technical assistance, and promote integrity, accountability, and proper management of public affairs and public property. States Parties must adopt and maintain anti-corruption policies, promote effective preventive practices, review legal and administrative measures, cooperate with others, support anti-corruption bodies, and notify the UN Secretary-General of relevant authorities.
