About this statute

This Order sets procedures for importing and exporting organs, tissues, and products from a deceased person for therapeutic or scientific research purposes. Organs imported or exported may be used only for therapeutic purposes; tissues imported or exported may be used for therapeutic purposes or scientific research. Organs or tissues imported or exported must first be tested for contagious diseases, according to an order from the Minister in charge of Health. Hospitals and health institutions may import or export organs or tissues only with authorization from the Minister in charge of health, and they must keep and update a register of these imports and exports. Hospitals and health institutions must meet listed conditions to get authorization to import or export organs and tissues from a deceased person.
