Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets the rules for how the Sector Education Council and District Education Council hold meetings and make decisions. The Sector Education Council’s ordinary meeting is convened and chaired by its President; if the President is absent or unavailable, the Sector education officer does so; and one-third of the members may request that it be convened. The Sector Education Council must meet quarterly, during the long vacation, and as often as necessary for extraordinary meetings. The Sector Education Council may validly meet and decide only when two-thirds of members are present; if quorum is not met, a new meeting must be called within 15 days for an ordinary meeting or 3 days for an extraordinary meeting, and the second meeting can decide regardless of attendance. The District Education Council’s ordinary meetings are convened and chaired by the President, or by the Vice President if the President is absent or unavailable.
