This Law establishes a levy on imported goods for financing African Union activities. La présente loi instaure une redevance sur les biens importés pour le financement des activités de l’Union Africaine.

Ntirireba ibintu bisonewe n’amategeko abigenga. This Law applies to all imported goods. It does not apply to goods exempted under relevant laws. La présente loi s’applique à tous les biens importés. Elle ne s’applique pas aux biens exonérés en vertu des lois en la matière.

All imported goods are subject to a levy of zero point two per cent (0.2%), to be levied on the customs value of imported goods. Tous les biens importés sont soumis à une redevance de zéro point deux pour cent (0,2 %) perçue sur la valeur douanière des biens importés.

The levy on imported goods is collected at the customs point in accordance with the customs legislation. The levy collected on imported goods is deposited into an account intended for that purpose, opened with the National Bank of Rwanda.
