Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets measures for tracing the family members of unaccompanied refugee children so they can be reunited. This article defines “family” and “unaccompanied refugee child.” People who find an unaccompanied refugee child, or a refugee child separated from family, must report it to the nearest local authority; in the unaccompanied-child case, they may either hand the child to the stated authority or notify it in writing. When seeking information about an unaccompanied refugee child, offensive language must not be used. An unaccompanied refugee child who can express him/herself has the right to give an opinion freely about family reunification.
