Statute overview

About this statute

This Order sets out how assistance should be provided to a child infected or affected by an incurable disease. This article defines “incurable disease” and “care provider” for the Order. Public and government-subsidised health facilities must provide adequate healthcare to a child with an incurable disease, even if the child is not accompanied by a parent, guardian, or caregiver. The Ministry in charge of health must, within its means, pay for medication and medical devices and help find medical specialists for a child with an incurable disease. The care provider must make sure a child with an incurable disease takes prescribed medicine and receives psychosocial support.
